I've known Julie Cain for almost 15 years. When we first met in San Francisco thru my wife, I didn't even know she sang and wrote songs and didn't find that out until we both moved to Los Angeles when she started doing a kitsch country live act called "Bitsy Lee and the Bitter Three." At some point I offered to co produce her debut ep with my friend Geoff Walcha and the result was Interstate Hum. The ep has three of my favorite drum tracks I have ever recorded. "Who's Blue?" "Stranger" and "Will It Be You." Interstate Hum also features some of the best guitar playing I have ever witnessed being recorded by an old friend Stuart Mathis, who has played for years with Jewel, The Wallflowers, Five for Fighting and many many others. |
