I first met Storm Large almost ten years ago. Many times has she crashed on my couch in Los Angeles cooking the most amazing dinners in return. When she was on the TV show "Rockstar Supernova," friends and family would come over to my house to watch every week and enjoy her rocking performances.
She and I have tried a many times over the years to work together but could never quite make schedules match up. Finally in 2008 I was finally able to play drums on a duet track of hers entitled "Drive Away," recorded at Dave Grohl's 606 studio with the legendary John Doe from X singing backup and harmony.
A year and or so later, I received a call from Storm asking me to be involved in her one women musical/theater show entitled "Crazy Enough" opening at the Portland Center Stage in Portland Oregon. The show's music and songs had been written with her musical director ex Everclear alumni James "Jammer" Beaton. Unable to be a part of the theatre house band due to the upcoming birth of my second child, I was able to fly to Portland and record the 12 songs in 3 days that were to make up the soundtrack album "Crazy Enough." Since then I have played shows with her in Portland, Los Angeles, NYC, Edinburgh Scotland, Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne Australia. I was even fortunate enough to be a part of her show Valentine's day show 2010 with the Oregon Symphony.
The "Crazy Enough" fun continued in August 2010 with a month long set of shows, 25 shows in 26 days, at the Fringe Theatre Festival in Edinburgh Scotland. She received rave reviews and 4 and 5 stars in every publication.
In June of 2011 we embarked to the Adelaide Caberet Festival in Adelaide Australia. After which we continued and did shows in both Sydney and Melbourne. All shows were well received with again 4 and 5 stars given in all reviews! Click here to read a review from Australia.
An absolute sweetheart of a person who would give you the shirt off her back although it would be all sweaty and gross from her stunning live shows. I am happy to have the privilege of working with her now and in the future! I will keep you updated thru the site!
